As part of the company’s ‘Let’s Go Environmental’ drive – a programme set up in 2018 to undertake CSR activities to safeguard the environment and give back to the local community – Frank Salt Real Estate has donated 454 solar panels to the Inspire Foundation.

The initiative is by far the largest CSR project Frank Salt Real Estate has undertaken to date, also marking its 50th year anniversary.

The €120,000 donation by the estate agency is estimated to generate some 253,000 units of energy a year, saving Inspire just under €45,000 worth of electricity annually.

The project was launched and inaugurated on Monday 25th November, at The Inspire Foundation’s branch in Marsascala (Razzett tal-Hbiberija), where the panels are being installed. Minister for Energy and Water Management, Hon. Joe Mizzi also attended the event, accompanied by Mr Antonello Gauci, CEO of The Inspire Foundation, and Grahame Salt, Frank Salt Real Estate Director.

Minister Mizzi, while commending this initiative, spoke about how the government is helping volunteer organizations to install photovoltaic panels. He said that the Government and the private sector should continue to work to support vulnerable people, whilst also contributing to achieving the country’s environmental goals. Grahame Salt said that he believes that Malta needs more companies to take up similar initiatives. ‘Our hope is that this project, once in operation, will serve as an example to other companies who want to genuinely make a major contribution back to the society that sustains the success of a business in the long term.’

‘‘The Inspire Foundation is a core organisation for the Maltese community and we are proud to support it,’ added Grahame Salt. ‘Its sterling work helps countless children and adults with their physical and intellectual disabilities so they can reach their full potential. To operate, the Foundation requires immense amounts of energy. Installing photovoltaic panels at their premises will not only help make the foundation greener and more energy-efficient but will also contribute to a decrease in their running costs and energy bills.’

Antonello Gauci expressed his gratitude towards Frank Salt Real Estate. “This is truly an incredible initiative, one that gives us the courage and support to keep providing the services that are truly indispensable for people with disabilities and their families. We thank Frank Salt Real Estate and commend their “Let’s Go Environmental” drive for acknowledging the work we do and for supporting the foundation in a way that makes it significantly more environmentally and financially sustainable.”
