Get to know Donna!

Donna is a property consultant at the Marsascala branch of Frank Salt Real Estate and was inspired personally by Mr Frank Salt to pursue a career in real estate. She is an excellent listener and knows how to effectively communicate with people from all walks of life. As a creative person she loves to interpret the interests, wants and needs of her clients by showing them the very best properties that she feels will suit them within their budget. After clients have bought a property, she loves providing post-sales guidance and to assists them throughout the entire journey.

On a personal level Donna believes in fairness on all levels of society, restoring the balance of the environment and her dream is for all people to have access to safe housing, adequate nutrition and to root out injustice whenever she encounters it. As part of her creative personality, she loves doing and consulting on interior design projects during her free time, so she is always up to something creative and artistic. On the odd occasion when she has some down time, she also enjoys reading and socialising but her ultimate priority is spending time with her children.

What sums you up as a person in around a hundred words?

I have a passion for teaching and learning. With a keen eye for detail, my love for design allows me to visualise possibilities and there are times where I love to think outside the box. As a child I enjoyed drawing plans and writing down detailed measurements of my dream home. I am also an excellent observer and a great thinker and my work is my absolute passion! However, I also enjoy studying, practising sports and spending quality time with my family and friends.

What interesting bits can you share with us about your youth and growing up?

I grew up in a religious and spiritual family. Loyalty and honesty means everything to me. God is a part of my life.

What did you do before you joined Frank Salt Real Estate?

I am qualified as a teacher, so that’s what I did before becoming an agent.

What was the biggest reason that made you decide to join the Frank Salt Team?

My belief in what the company stands for, its reputation and of course the long and proud history. For me FSRE was the only choice.

What is it that you like most about being a property consultant?

Dealing with people! I love assisting and helping people in finding homes that are perfect for them and being a part of the journey from start to finish.

What is your number one rule that you stick to when it comes to being successful in real estate sales?

It is crucial to be honest with clients as it builds trust.

What role does your love of interior design play when you are selling property?

I can see potential in homes and share this with my clients. The best is when I see them getting excited after my suggestions as to what they can do with a property!

What advice will you give to someone who wants to become a property consultant?

The working conditions are very flexible and it is absolutely rewarding!

What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?

For me the most important things are to first call my mum and then prepare a nice cup of tea.

Name something you will never leave the house without!

This one is easy: my mobile!

Who or what inspires you and why?

My parents are the ones that inspire me as they worked extremely hard all their lives and invested in my education in order for myself and my family to have a great life.

What do you like to do when you are on holiday or have some free time?

I love doing outdoor and fun activities with my children. It is very important for me to spend as much time with them as possible whenever I can.

What is your most treasured material possession and why?

I am more of a spiritual person so therefore the answer is “Nothing!”

If we put you in charge of the world for a year, what would you do?

I will get rid of all the injustice that now seems to be part of every level of society!

What instantly makes your day a lot better?

Oh, definitely a hug from my children… it cannot be beaten.

If you could eat only one type of meal for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

Love it or hate it, for me it will be chicken fillets!

What are the best life lessons that you have been taught by your parents?

To be grateful and appreciate life. Work hard, think twice and be smart.

What makes you really angry?

When someone lying, two-faced people and injustice!

If you had unlimited access to money, what would you do?

I would feed and shelter all the stray animals, make healthcare and education free for all for starters. My goal would be for everyone to have a safe home, for everyone to receive equal pay for the same job, plant fruit trees and vegetables everywhere.

Name at least 3 celebrities you will invite to a party and tell us why?

Celine Dion because love her voice, Dr Phil because I enjoy watching his shows and Maria Formosa who is the executive secretary of ALS Malta and the wife of ALS activist Bjorn Formosa – I truly admire her!

What will be a typical Sunday lunch and where would you go?

I would head straight to my mum’s house… she is a great chef and I love her cooking!

What do you consider makes someone a hero?

A hero is not afraid of speaking up and fighting against the injustice. A hero helps others who are in need. This quote by William Faulkner is my biggest inspiration: “Never be afraid to raise your voice for honesty and truth and compassion against injustice and lying and greed. If people all over the world would do this, it would change the world.”

What do you like most about living in Malta?

For me personally, Malta offers the world’s best climate and it is a very safe place to live.

Which of your five senses would you say is the strongest and why?

My sense of hearing by listening and understanding people for sure! I am very sensitive to other people’s needs, problems and feelings so I consider myself a very qualified empath.

What will you do if you had a time machine?

As I truly miss my grandfather and the fact that he was always proud me, I would love to return in time, give him the last hug, and tell him that I love him!

What are you planning to do over the Festive Season?

My priority will be to spend quality time with my children. I enjoy visiting every Christmas village, wearing matching outfits and decorating my home.

Do you still keep in contact with any of your childhood friends?

Yes, I am blessed to still have a great listener, supportive and understanding best friend from my younger days.

Some fun facts about Donna we'd like to share.

Stay up late. During that time I either work or study.

I am happy to grow older as I consider that I am ageing like a fine wine.

For my sense of humour. A good laugh makes me and everyone else feel a lot better, instantly.

Thailand for the exotic cuisine, wildlife and pristine beaches. Bali for the gorgeous beaches. Morocco for the food and unique culture.

I enjoy doing some home cooking and preparing different dishes for my family.

No, as I learn from every experience because life never stops teaching one.
