Having lived in Malta for 14 years now, experiences with estate agents & trying to find a suitable rental property have been to say the least mixed!
We very recently had the really good fortune to walk in to Frank Salt in Mellieha just before closing time & we were greeted by Doreen Meli who immediately made us feel welcome and came across as very professional. Within minutes of chatting to Doreen it became evident that her warm personality is genuinely how she is, no hard sell or trying to push us to look at properties above our stated budget. She just listened & asked us the right questions to understand what we were looking for.
End result was we stayed in the office past closing time, we showed Doreen some properties on the Frank Salt website that we were interested in, from that she grasped the kind of property we were looking for and after checking out the one’s we had shown her, came up with the perfect apartment for us that was available immediately & in one of our preferred area. We went to see it the following morning with Doreen & the lovely owner who we got on with straight away. We immediately said yes and agreed to take the apartment.
Doreen did all of the negotiation with the owner on our behalf. The owners had their own contract, which Doreen thoroughly checked & discussed with us to make sure we 100% understood and were happy with before signing.
In addition to being tenants in Malta, we also have our own property in the UK that is rented for us by a managing agent, as such we have had dealings with estate agents as both a tenant & a landlord. I can honestly say that I have never felt as confident in an agent’s abilities as I did with Doreen.
Thank you Frank Salt but especially a massive thank you to Doreen for not only being so professional but also for being such a genuinely nice person too.
