St. Paul’s Bay derived its name from the shipwreck of Saint Paul in the area on what is now knows as St. Paul’s Island, which is located in the bay. This was during his voyage from what was known as Caesarea to the capital of the Roman Empire, Rome.
St Paul’s Bay is one of Malta’s most populous towns and extremely popular amongst expats. During the summer months the amount of people swell to almost double, with the neighbourhoods of Buġibba and Qawra being most popular destinations for holidays.
St. Paul’s Bay has many hotels catering to the summer crowds and property for sale in St. Paul’s Bay is generally more affordable than for instance Sliema which is less than half an hour away by car. All property types can be found here but mostly apartments, penthouses, townhouses, maisonettes and even the odd house of character are offered for sale. The area is also the location of some of Malta’s most popular bays such as Mistra, Ġnejna and Golden Bays and draws in vast amounts of locals and tourists alike.
