Ibrag, Malta, forms part of the greater area of Swieqi and it is a town in the Northern Region of Malta also known as Tal-Ibrag in Maltese. It is located close to Sliema and within walking distance of Malta’s nightlife and entertainment centers, Paceville and St. Julian’s. During the development of the area, residential suburbs replaced the rural area. Swieqi’s name means “water channels”, a reminder of the region’s past. It has an estimated population of 14,452.
Due to the area being quiet and in a central location, it became very popular with the upper-middle and A-list population of the island. Vacant property in this area is scarce. A small number of service industries, IT facilities, and English language schools have made the area home.
The Patron saint is Our Lady the Immaculate Conception, Mother of the Church and the day of its festa is 8 December.
