Our competition is aimed at encouraging children to explore how they can live in harmony with nature from their own homes, even if they live in urban areas. We believe that by encouraging children to think about how they can live in harmony with nature, we can help instill important values of environmental stewardship and conservation at a young age.
The theme of the competition is “My Special Green Corner”. Children are invited to draw or paint a green space in their house, such as a terrace, balcony, yard, or roof garden, or even a special indoor area where they have plants. If they don’t have such a corner, they can imagine it and draw or paint it. They can also draw a special building, door facade, or street alley, for example.
The competition is open to state, church, and independent schools, and will be structured according to age levels:
We will have a winner for each of the five categories, along with a runner-up prize. They will receive a voucher that can be redeemed from any of the following outlets: VeeGeeBee, Scan, Intercomp or Eduline. The top ten entries for each category will also receive a certificate of participation.
Submissions to the competition may be in any type of media, including drawings, paintings, cartoons, doodles, and sketches using pencils, crayons, acrylics, oils, watercolors, ink, mixed media, and digital art. Each participant can submit up to three entries.
Entries to the competition will be judged by a panel of local artists and environmental enthusiasts. Certificates will be awarded to the top ten entries in each age category. The winners of each age category will receive an educational or art-related gift.
One may submit their entry through the form below, or by dropping it off in a sealed envelope at any of our branches across Malta and Gozo.
All entries will also be uploaded on a virtual exhibition hall, thus providing ease of access to all participants and the public at large to view the entries.
