Ta’ Xbiex is an area in the central region of Malta with a population of about 2 000. It is located on a headland inside Marsamxett Harbour between Msida and Gzira.
Traditional fishing boats can still be seen in the beautiful yacht marina towards the side of Valletta, with countless sailing boats and bigger vessels moored as far as one can see. The area is famous for the large number of foreign embassies occupying beautiful villas from the Belle Époque era along the coastal drive. Here one can find the Embassies of Egypt, Greece, Ireland, France, the Australian High Commission and the British High Commission.
The promenade walk is very popular due to its scenic surrounds. There are stunning views towards Valletta and Floriana and the area is also famous for its café culture.
The church is dedicated to St John of the Cross, who is also the patron saint of Ta’ Xbiex and it is decorated in the Basilic and Roman styles.
The day of the festa is the Sunday before 25 November.
