Year Overview – The Year of 2015

Looking at past news, initiatives and milestones, we see where we have been, what we have done and hopefully also find some inspiration for things to come. It is beneficial for anyone to celebrate these past events of note, as it provides us with a roadmap of the steps we have taken to not only learn more, but to improve ourselves and to evolve to where we are today. We hope you will all enjoy this summary of the Year that was 2015!

Highlights of 2015

Home Interiors: A Key Service

This article from 2015 featured Mary Bezzina and Leonard Grech from Frank Salt’s Home Interiors Consultancy Service Department. It dealt with how they can help one finish a property on time and within budget. Highlights from the article described the excitement of hunting for the right property and all the planning of how to turn a new house into a home.

The article stated that doing up a property is an adventure, but on the downside one has to deal with workers and contractors, going around showrooms trying to find the right furnishings, and sticking to a schedule.

This is where Frank Salt’s Home Interiors Consultancy Service Department, to this day, can assist in converting a newly purchased property into a stylish, comfortable and practical home and the service is available to those who buy a property from Frank Salt Real Estate or any other real estate agency.

 

Frank Salt Real Estate Celebrated 25 Years of Service in Gozo

In 2015 Frank Salt Real Estate’s flagship branch in Gozo celebrated its 25th anniversary. The company directors and management hosted a lush reception at Palazzo Palina in Ta’ Cenc, Sannat, in the company of the Gozo branch’s team, its key service providers, as well as a number of clients.

Mr Frank Salt thanked branch manager Marie Grech for reflecting the brand values held dear by all the other Frank Salt Real Estate branches.

 

Destination Dubai

Ten of the company’s highest achievers for 2014 were treated to a trip to Dubai, the chosen destination for that year’s incentive.

The busiest of the seven United Arab Emirates, Dubai was growing fast and still is home to the world’s tallest building. With all expenses paid, the team got to enjoy some of the mesmerizing wonders that this haven had to offer. They were also treated to five-star luxury all the way, dinners at lavish restaurants, off-roading in the desert, a private suite for the horse races, cruising on the Dubai river and even skiing in the Dubai Ski Mall.

The trip also included brainstorming sessions, key meetings and planning exercises and the team consisted of Company Director Grahame Salt, Property Sales Consultants Dylan Micallef, Josianne DeGaetano and John Middleton, Letting Consultants Edward Aquilina and Matthew Buttigieg, Branch Secretary Marcelle Mercieca, Branch Managers Omar Xuereb, Marie Grech and Patrick Xuereb and HR Manager Sandra Aquilina.

 

Frank Salt Real Estate Appointed a New Manager for its Commercial Division

Due to expansion,  Rita K. Schembri was appointed as the Commercial Unit Manager.

Ms Schembri joined the Company in 2013 as a Commercial Property Sales Consultant. She is a University of Malta Graduate in Accountancy with a progressive financial and management career spanning over twenty five years. Her tasks were to manage and expand further the entire Commercial Property Division.

The Commercial Property Division’s designated branch resides at Level 2, 2, Paceville Avenue, St Julian’s.

 

Frank Salt Real Estate Recruitment Drive

As part of its drive to promote professional working ethics in the local real estate industry and to engage new property consultants to work with the company, Frank Salt Real Estate organised Career Guidance Seminars for all those who wanted to learn more about working in real estate.

The seminars took place on Saturday 18th May and Monday 20th May at the Corinthia Palace Hotel in Attard and were open to anyone interested in a job in real estate, particularly in sales or letting. The seminars  were opened by Mr Frank Salt, who shared the success recipe of the company he founded then more than 40 years ago.

 

Frank Salt Real Estate Honoured with Firing of Canons at Saluting Battery in Valletta

Members of the Frank Salt Real Estate team were treated to the firing of canons at the Saluting Battery in Valletta last Saturday at the closing of their annual team building event organised by the company.

On the trails of the Knights of St John and the city’s architecture, the team delved into the challenge at hand, solving the perplexing riddles prepared by the organisers. The route took them all around Valletta, all the way from Hastings Gardens and City Gate to Fort St Elmo to the Lower Barakka Gardens.

The Marsascala branch team ultimately won the challenge, followed closely by the San Gwann branch team. The event was organised in collaboration with Outdoor Living Malta.

 

Frank Salt Real Estate was Confirmed as Official sponsors of Sliema ASC for the Third Year Running

Frank Salt Real Estate confirmed their sponsorship of Sliema ASC for the 2015 water polo season. Grahame Salt, director of the Frank Salt Real Estate Group, signed the sponsorship agreement with Dr. Frank Testa, the Sliema ASC President in the presence of Darren Saliba, Sliema ASC Secretary.

Frank Salt Real Estate Donates €5,000 to MOAS

In its efforts to assist local philanthropic causes, Frank Salt Real Estate donated €5,000 to the Migrant Offshore Aid Station (MOAS), dedicated to preventing loss of life at sea by providing assistance to migrants who find themselves in distress while crossing the Mediterranean Sea in unsafe vessels.

Douglas Salt, Director of Frank Salt Real Estate, stated: “Guided by the belief that every life has equal value, we, as a company, are delighted to support the efforts of MOAS, and we’re grateful for the important work they do year-round to help the less fortunate.” Regina Catrambone, founder of MOAS, thanked Mr Salt for the donation. Based in Malta, MOAS is a registered foundation.

Bringing Expat Communities Together

The Malta China Association Family Day was organised by the association at Kennedy Grove to bring expat communities together and saw the participation of over 50 families from the resident Chinese community.

The event was sponsored by Frank Salt Real Estate, as part of its drive to bring expat communities together and supporting fun family activities.

Frank Salt Real Estate Beach Cleanup

To help keep our beautiful islands and its beaches clean for all to enjoy particularly during the summer months, a group of employees and friends from Frank Salt Real Estate’s St Paul’s Bay and Mellieha branches organized a clean-up activity in Mgiebah Bay as a contribution towards the company’s social and environmental responsibility. Volunteers collected more than20 kilograms of litter.

The event was great for team building and brought together employees, their families and friends for an environmentally worthy cause.

Frank Salt Real Estate Sponsored International Classic Ballet Performance in Malta

Organised under the stars in Mdina, this was an event which Frank Salt Real Estate were proud to be sponsoring. Held on Friday 24 July 2015 at Archbishop Square in Mdina, Malta Art Events, in collaboration with the Mdina Local council and Frank Salt Real Estate, a ballet spectacular featuring Prokofiev’s famous ballet Romeo and Juliet was performed. Notable dancers that featured came from The Bavarian State Ballet of Munich and the National Theatre of Prague.

Sponsorship of this prestigious event was another initiative by Frank Salt Real Estate to support local cultural and heritage and followed previous sponsorship of Tonio Mallia’s Earth Art Exhibition in Gozo and the Valletta Heritage seminars.

 

Every drop counts: Blood Donation Drive by Frank Salt Real Estate

In response to Malta’s Blood Donation Unit calls for blood donation, Frank Salt Real Estate held a blood donation drive amongst its team in an attempt to generate more awareness and also encourage its members to contribute to this worthy cause.

A good number of Frank Salt Employees took on the challenge and donated their blood at the national blood bank in Pieta.

New Property Website for Frank Salt Real Estate

Not many companies can boast of a property website as extensive and as complete as that of Frank Salt Real Estate.

The company launched their then latest property website version, www.franksalt.com.mt, which offered a 360° service to its clients. The sites came, at the time, complete with all the latest social media gadgets and interactive widgets.

The website was described as attractive, dynamic and user friendly: a one-stop-portal. In-depth sections offered tips on helping clients with purchasing or renting property, how to go about acquiring bank loans, tips for first time buyers and Malta’s highlights.

 

Residence Seminars for Foreign Nationals Relocating to Malta

Homes of Quality held a series of seminars for those who were interested in relocating to Malta at the Malta High Commission in London. These seminars were held in collaboration with Blevins Franks and John Huber & Associates. The seminars were a striking success and affirmed Malta and Gozo as key investment locations for the UK’s High net worth private individuals and business investors.

The Malta seminars were hosted by Malta’s High Commissioner in London H.E. Norman Hamilton following an aggressive online marketing campaign in the UK’s major newspapers and participation in several exhibitions in London, Birmingham and Manchester.

A Record Year for Frank Salt Real Estate

Frank Salt Real Estate, for the third consecutive time, registered another record year with an increase of over 40% in sales revenue in 2015. Overall gross profit for the company increased by over 30%. This was reported during the company’s annual general conference held at the Corinthia St George’s Bay Hotel.

In the opening statement, company chairman Mr. Frank Salt thanked all members of Frank Salt Real Estate for making this a record year for the company. 2015 was also a record year for the company’s letting division, which registered an overall increase in revenue of 21%. Maltaholidaylets, which was created to promote and manage short lets, also registered its best year ever with an increase of 66% in revenue. The biggest increase in sales was registered by the second time buyer market and in sales of property for investment purposes.

Average commission paid to its consultant also increased by a further 20%, amongst the highest in the market. Of all its branches, the top revenue contributors for the company were the Sliema branch, followed by St. Julians and Fgura respectively. In line with the company’s ambitious expansion plans were the recruitment of sales and letting consultants for new offices.

The Fgura branch was announced as Frank Salt Real Estate’s Best Branch for 2015, whilst Paul Bondin from the same branch and Matthew Buttigieg from the St Paul’s Bay branch were recognised as Best Sales and Letting consultants respectively.

During this time the new company logo was also unveiled. During his presentation, Darren DeDomenico highlighted that Frank Salt Real Estate evolved a great deal and that the new logo was more than just a modernization: “It reflects our unwavering commitment towards our clients and our ambition to drive forward and lead the industry. It represents the combination of excitement, individuality and dedication that’s at the heart of each and every member of our growing team” he said.
